Hey everyone...im thinking of getting a tatt soon and i want all my tattoos to actually mean somthing to me... so im thinking of getting any of these that i drew up myself i need advice and opinions so let me know what you guys think?
where are you thinking of getting the tat? and what are the personal meanings of them? or is it just the obvious meaning of the symbol? I like the idea of drawing it yourself
lol srry well i would like to get the zodiac sign on my forearm (right side) and im not sure on the other im part irish one my dads side and the sign is my sign so what you think?
woa confusing! lol well I like the zodiac sign the best and the placement on the forearm sounds awesome (also for symmetric designs like those i like the back near the base of the neck inbetween shoulders).
In my opinion bigger is better... but think about it a bit before you get it, especially in such a noticeable place, first tattoos are usually the ones people regret or get covered up.
zodiac signs are popular, which could work to your advantage in that you wont have to explain what it means to everyone.

I think the cancer design is the strongest, graphically. That would make solid tattoo!
I also like the idea of designing your own--I designed a few of mine from scratch and I love them. (To be honest, I love two of them, and one that I did myself is not my favorite, but that's okay.) With the nautical star and claddaugh, though, my thought is that these are your drawings of designs that other people have, because they are classic tattoo designs. (Not that no one has had an astrological sign done before, but that seems to be more whole-cloth yours.) In cases like that, I would consider working with a tattoo artist that specializes in that sort of work, and collaborate to customize it for yourself but in their hand. I think my genuinely best tattoo is one that I collaborated with the artist on: I took him the concept and about half a dozen images that I wanted him to take into account; he designed, I responded and edited, he produced a final. We both loved it and we both felt like it was our own, and so it came out really strong.
I appreciate that you're wanting to move past the flash pages for your first work. That's excellent!
honestly it seriously depends on where you want to put it because each one conforms differently to different parts of the body.
if you already have a specific artist in mind, I would recommend speaking with them too because they would know better than most. I just got the words 'MY LIFE' tattooed on my left arm yesterday and chose the back of my arm after speaking with the artist because I was thinking of either the bicep or back of the arm.

i like the zodiac sign best and my suggestion is that if you want it on your forearm i'd put the 6 on the right arm and the 9 on the left....just a suggestion as it is a symetrical design
Yeah the scene-y toile reminds me a bit of my nonna's bedspread or something haha
Will definitely chat with my artist about some shadows and see what she can come up with :)
The pain isn't something I'm relishing, but it'll just be three hours out…
