I'm just starting to ink my body, I think its kind of wrong to get too much ink too early. Ink should be a mark of experience rather than a passing fancy of youth. I'm finding myself in a rather difficult position because of it.
For those who don't like tattoos, mine are too big and I already have too many. For the who like tattoos, I'm a newbie and they treat me like a kid because of it. (Or worse yet, pressure me to get more done than I'm ready for).

Its not important to me how much, or how little guys have done on their bodies, so why should it matter how much I have on mine?

It bothers some guys, because they can't accept you having something they aren't comfortable with. Then there is the situation where they will have to introduce the "tattooed girlfriend" to family and friends. What will "they" think? It's a problem with the guys self confidence, not the size, quantity or location of your tattoos.

First of all, you are right that tattoo's are a sign of experience. Those who don't like tattoo's will never like tattoo's and there's nothing any of us can do about that. Those who try to push you into getting more than you're ready for are the ones who get the Elmer Fudd tatt's on their chest and the Barbed-Wire on their arms just to prove that they are tough and have tattoo's.(And they
Get what you want, when you want, where you want, and how big/colorful you want. The right guy will come along and he'll probably have just as many, or more, and he'll want to know the story behind each one of yours.
My last girlfriend got a Flying Heart w/ Tribal Flames on her chest, right between the Hooties and my Mom was like, "She couldn't have got that somewhere else?". I told her that she got that tattoo for herself and not for me and/or my mom. She should respect the fact that people have their own idea's of beauty and it doesn't always fall in line with what everybody else thinks. She understood, it just shocked her that young women do that kind of thing now.
Hang tough, get want you want, when you want. Remember, you're the one that has to wear them forever. Be happy with what you get or don't get it, no matter what anybody says.

You have to ask yourself why you're getting tattooed. When I was thinking about tattooing my arms, I hesitated for the same reason you asked this question. Than I realized my tattoos are for me. There's a difference between having tattoos and the tattoos being part of your identity. Once you cross the line of having a few here and there and step into the realm of people asking you what the hell you were thinking - you can begin to understand just how much your tattoos mean. Guys normally either love my tats or hate them. If they hate it than it wasn't meant to be and it shows me how close minded people can be. My tattoos say all the words that I can't. If someone doesn't take the time to ask or try to understand - than they're most likely not going to take the time to get to know me either. You can tell a lot by tattoos. Psychologists look at tattoos to figure out parts of people's personalities. It's your body and your choice. People are always going to have a problem with something. If tats are their biggest problem than I'd say you're doing well for yourself. If someone tries to pressure you than that's fine. It's still your choice and last time I checked none of my friends can go under the needle for me. By getting tattooed, you chose to step out of the box. It's your choice to go from here.

It shouldn't matter, plain and simple. Any confident, secure guy worth going out with isn't going to be scared off by a little ink. Or a lot of it even.

Yeah the scene-y toile reminds me a bit of my nonna's bedspread or something haha Will definitely chat with my artist about some shadows and see what she can come up with :) The pain isn't something I'm relishing, but it'll just be three hours out…
