My only piece of advice, being a social worker myself, is to cover your tats in court. But as for the rest of the social work arena, you should be fine if you're respectful about it.

I currently work with families in child welfare, who are involved with Child Protection Services. I get to work from a preventative aproach to help families decrease risk of child abuse or neglect. Occasionally, a family will be unsuccessful and the children will need to go to a foster home or with relatives. Hard work, but I love it.
