You guys maybe, but I certainly can sit a lot longer when the studio is quiet and the artist can concentrate. The guy that did my backpiece and a lot more (and he is good!) owns the studio, so deals with all the hassle of running a business. His s...
Maybe a tip for Northern Californians. My present favourite artist comes to the San Jose convention. It's Inma Alted from Evil From The Needle in London. She is doing my throat and neck project.
If you'll have the outline of a backpiece it will take a full day to draw it and to hammer it in.... But then you're artist won't have to add to the design or change her mind or get doubts or forget how she wanted to do it. Have fun!
Tattooed from the hairline down with oriental stuff. One leg is still usable canvas and my feet, hands and most of my neck is still left.

About Me:
Male 56 year old straight ink pervert. I have been collecting since 1975. Most tattoos are fish, dragons and flowers. And I have always extended existing work into bigger pieces. In 1999 I came across Errol in Rotterdam who is an artist with a vision. He is slowly reworking all old work into something consistent. He has also done the dragon on my back and a pin up and turtle on my front.
I met a new artist at the Llandudno convention in august 2008! Inma(culada) Alted. A Spanish girl working in London. Great talent, totally own style. She did my throat!
Same lightky inked girlfriend since 1973.
Hobbies? Working. Surfing the internet with a guitar on my lap. Go to ukulele meetings. Ski, dive, sail, ride motorcycle, wait outside shoestores.
Describe your profession:
I dodged the corporate world by building my own one man empire, pumping antique motorcycle parts over this planet. Either I never see my customers or they have got used to me.

Some fuzzy thoughts: I don't know what you're after, but if it is a backpiece like mine sizewise, you'll need to have a good concept from the beginning. Like a dragon or another cliche... I have long pondered upon this and I thought better a good copy/cliche than something original that needs a real artist and will probably not work as a bodysuit. There are many reasonable to good artists out there, but a really good one is hard to find. I'm not in touch with the American scene other than what I see on the net or at conventions. Go to some conventions and check out portfolios. If there is good one you'll spot him or her rightaway. No spark, no ink. I have looked for mine for 10 years... And he was only 12 miles down the road. But I already had work from 14 others, Holland, England and USA. And now my artist is getting a bit sloppy and I haven't booked at all.
Yes, I just need to step up the communication. I meet with him Wed to talk. If I get attitude then I will look in SF. Have any ideas on what to add or who to work with?
yes, the back is getting bigger. the 24 is my birth date / lucky number. Born year of the dragon. I think the focal point of the full back will be a female samurai in a soft pink robe adorned with cherry blossoms.
