I had considered flying down for the event from Sacramento--I've watched the evolution of the bodysuit on the right (think he was in Horiyuki's book while it was in progress).

No, I don't have personal experience with him, unfortunately. I wanted to get some work done by him, but I was discouraged by the waiting list. That was when I was younger so I didn't know better =[. If it was now, then I would've waited for sure....
I meant whether Josh had any personal experience. I'm not discouraged by the wait and agree that waits are worthwhile if you really want it. I waited 5 months to start up my current 1/2 sleeve and got in one session, then had to wait 6 more months...
i do not know from personal experience. although i love his work, i don't think his style is exactly what i want for my tattoos. my hubby is planning on getting tattooed by him at an upcoming convention though.
also, i get tattooed by some artist...
I don't know anyone who has been tattooed by him, but he's at the top of my list of artists to be tattooed by. The wait is to be expected with someone as good as him.
Agreed; by the way do you know from personal experience with Horiyen (or perhaps you looked into getting tattooed by him but were discouraged by the long wait?)?
All I know is that he has over 2 years of waiting list. and if I remember correctly, he charges $1000 per session to outline and i think it was $800 per session for shading. I might be a little off though. He has a studio in Alhambra. You should c...
It was. Got to speak with Taki briefly; watched Shige, Henning Jorgensen, Mike Rubendall, and Horiyen doing what they do best. How's your work coming along -- been a while since we've seen some new pics.
Hey not been on here in ages. How you doing? Going back to London tomorrow for a 6 hour session. Be the last until next year, im hoping alot will get done!!
You heard from Mo recently? Iv been on checkoutmyink a few times and he hasnt been active i dont think.
Cheers .......i think Jay (Parker, skin illustrations) has got the proportion just about right, we have changed a few things, the wooden beam made sense as the stone on the original just doesn't transfer to the skin right. The lions head is going to be gold just to bring a burst of colour the rest will be close to the original......next i'm seriously considering a pair of golden foo dogs to frame it on both sides going on to my ribs ;-)
Cheers for the comments..........Ref is from Japanese artist Kuniyoshi, Zhang Shun, breaking through the lions head water gate ;-) (i have since found quite a few versions done on other backs) here is a link to the original art work
Hey had another session with Jamie today, I'v put some pics up. Going to book another session in September then shes going away at the end of October until after new year.
