I had my second sitting, which lasted 4.5 hrs. The majority of the work was outlining and shading the outside of my forearm, with the sleeve extending about 2 in. above my wrist. Lotus' were added to my outside forearm and shoulder, right above the koi. I'm really happy with how my forearm is turning out, however I hate the the feeling of unfinished work. I waited eight months for ,my first session to role by, and those eight months were torturous. I'm still debating whether the wait or the act of getting tattooed was more painful, and I'm leaning towards the wait. On Monday I went in and he worked on piecing together and fitting the stencil to my arm for the first hour or so..... the original drawing ended up being rather small in relation to the size of my arm, so he made it fit making the koi much larger, which I had hoped for. Tattoos are a relatively new concept for me..... not until six, seven years ago did the thought of a tattoo cross my mind and even then I wouldn't have expected to follow through with it. However, over the past few years I feel as if I have become closely tied to the history and culture of tattooing. I don't know what clicked for me, but it impacted the way I perceived tattoos.
