Okay...so I am completely obsessed with Synyster Gates' guitar solo in Avenged Sevenfold's "Afterlife." Yesterday when I was having a completely crap day, I just listened to that song over and over again. The guitar solo lodged itself into my brain and looped on repeat.
I saw a live video of them performing "Afterlife" the other day. I love the look on Synyster Gates' face...it's this look of absolute love and peace within the music. I can relate to that...and I love to see that in musicians.

Thought I would share some poems I've written...here's just a few:

Junkie Girl

Those words you said to me
Two days before the new year dawned
Were like a drug...
And I, your junkie girl,
Needed a fix.

Tapped it twice with the phrase-

One of my mom's friends is in a coma. She had cardiac arrest at some point last night and the long length of time in the state has led to irreversible brain damage. She beat breast cancer...has been in remission for five years. She had no history of heart problems. She was 49 years old and one of the kindest women my mom has ever known. This is slim to no hope of her ever coming out of the coma.

Last night he called me nightmare girl because I seem to have more nightmares than actual dreams. It's something I got used to long ago...the things that haunt me in my sleep. He hates it for me...wishes he could give me peaceful dreams full of love and beauty. Sometimes I wonder if the darkness that hides within me will scare him off. Here are mine in no particular order:
1. Smashing Pumpkins - "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" This came out when I was in middle school and forming my musical taste. My freshman year of high school this was the album I clung to as I transitioned. I would walk the halls singing "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" at the top of my lungs and listen to "Here is No Why" on repeat for hours.
