That's probably why I've never been tattooed at a show . . although sometime I'd like to try it, just to say I did it. But the experience is part of the fun of getting tattooed, and a quiet zen-like environment goes a long way. Part of the reason ...
You guys maybe, but I certainly can sit a lot longer when the studio is quiet and the artist can concentrate. The guy that did my backpiece and a lot more (and he is good!) owns the studio, so deals with all the hassle of running a business. His s...
in situations where travel is involved, it is really important to sit for multiple long sessions! it is just a matter of being prepared for it. it may not be fun, but it is worth it in the end.
Kudos to anyone who can sit for a full day. My longest session was 4 hours, which was plenty. I actually enjoy the process, and I'm certain the enjoyment would wear thin over 7-8 hours or more. Having said that, I REALLY want work from Vyvyn Lazon...
Had some walk-in work done by my back-piece artist yesterday - I didn't realise she was going to be at the local tattoo convention (and nor did she, it seems), so I dropped in to say hi and, of course, decided to get a random mermaid done on my in...
A relatively new upper arm piece, covering up a spontaneous tattoo done some twenty years ago; little reminder on inner left wrist.

About Me:
I was one of those kids that covered themselves in fake tattoos from bubble gum packs, growing up in a household where there was far too much "excitement" for me to be anything but sensible. Got my first tattoo at 18, a crappy bit of flash from a seedy local tattooist, when it was still relatively radical.
Since then spent years moving house (alot; mostly around London), working, studying, working & studying simultaneously for my Masters in Egyptian Archaeology (have a deep dislike of bad Ancient Egyptian themed ink, please PLEASE get in touch if you want any advice), moving to the other side of the world, settling down and getting a dog. Finally found time & energy to get a 'proper' bit of work done last year.
Won't be able to make it this weekend, Sarah - we are going to a golden anniversary celebration in Taupo on Saturday night. It's a bit of a shame as I wanted to enter my turtle into best colour... Have fun though and give into temptation!

100 miles a month isn't that much...I do 5 miles in the morning before work 6 days a week. Takes less than an hour and I'm ready to start the day. I love trail running too, but the weather here in the summer is too warm so I usually hit the gym if it's over 90 or so. Good luck on your backpiece!! If my artist wasn't local, I'd probably get as much done in one sitting as I could too. And I think it IS kind of like running, it's getting started that's the hard part.
Sarah, hi. And thanks so much for the nice comment. Tell me about hte baby. Beautiful. And thanks for the nice dog comment. Millie is my gal. I can't believe she's 10 now. I guess since the vets gave her nine weeks, that's pretty good. It's getting harder for her with her handicap. Time to pull out her wheelchair for more rehab to work those back legs. Happy 4th. Much apologies for the delay. Life has precluded me from being as active on this site as I'd wish.
I certainly didn't know that ! Funny how ancient sayings / proverbs not only survive, but become attributed to odd things like star trek (or whatever !) :)
