Austin's great. I love it here. I don't do much with SXSW, but I used to be a news photojournalist for CBS, and did a lot with SXSW. You should check it out. Mostly known for the music venue, the movie scene it pretty big too.
Had a shoot this past weekend that turned out great - I shot in a historic old courthouse that was just renovated - all wood and had a great warmth to it. Video turned out better then expected. Had a 12 foot dolly track, lots of Kino lights, and I was director for that shoot.
But my stuff is more training material - working on a video on how to conduct internal investigations, aimed at high-level management types. But I have some creative freedom to play while I edit.
Saw that you're also in the film production group. What do you want to do with that? I'm a producer in Austin - I write, produce and direct training videos - not quite movies, but I do have a screenplay in the works!
