New job...it nerves me up everytime.

So I love the job that I have, well the work anyway. The other aspects leave much to be desired (as in every job). I've been putting feelers out for something new and now i'm on the brink of receiving an offer for a new job. It will be working in an HLA lab which does typing and matching stuff for organ transplants (whole organs and bone marrow). It seems like a good direction to go in and it brings me, as a lab geek, that much closer to the patient and that much more important in their lives. I… Continue

New dead sleeve!

I'm about to get started on another half sleeve next week. I'm really excited to see it all finished up. It's going to be Mexican day of the dead themed. I'm not mexican but I love their attitudes and customs for dealing with death. I was a morgue technician for a hospital for a few years while I was in college performing hospital autopsies and the such. I also worked for the Medical Examiner's office in Massachusetts for a bit over two years. I went to crime scenes and picked up the decedents (… Continue

Oh totally...I'm so happy we didn't buy a cookie cutter house...this has so much more character. I'm wishing we had more money to fix it up right away but everything in time!

You too - especially your floral sleeve, as obviously I'm partial to botanical elements. (^_^)

Did you end up finding/ buying a house that didn't look like it needed to be condemned?

We're really excited about the house and it was/ still is a bit of a nightmare getting through the whole process. We walked through one that needed every single surface replaced and had it's own indoor waterfall coming from the bathroom...nice huh. This house needs a lot of work too, but it's 108 years old and has lots of character! It should be fun to make it ours...plus it's in a great neighborhood!

It's going to be about using art for life review...so I'll have an older woman painting herself from a mirror but her reflection will be that of a younger version of herself...muriel at www.zaotattoo.com is going to do it! I'm super excited!

I LOVE your new sleeve! What a beautiful and original piece of art! It's got great flow and color...you must have a kickass artist!
It's funny because I was reading your reasoning for your tattoo...which I think is great by the way...and I wanted to tell you that my next tattoo is about my work in Hospice....so not that far off!

My favorite part of one of your photos is the pink fuzzy slipper. It just makes the shot. :)
