I'd call these peopl ignorant.
I just got a new job 2 weeks ago who's standard on tattoo's says you can have them showing just they can't be vulgar and what not. Anyways tomorrow I get my half sleeve done and we'll see how it effects my new job, I'll update.

I think discriminating against someones appearance is more unprofessional than having body art!
Well, I can't really hide too much now since my associate dean, who saw me in the gym, told his class of 40+ students that I have a cool tattoo (he saw my knee) and that he wants to get one for his 53rd birthday to drive his kids crazy.
It's all about first impressions and what is expected. Insurance is a very suit-and-tie business, and a tattoo would certainly be out of place (today, anyway). Maybe the future will change but overall I think not.

- being a tattoo artist in Hawaii must rock! What a great life! I've never been to Hawaii but I imagine the weather is just gorgeous. My husband and I are eventually going to be moving back to Australia and the weather is one of the main reasons! Gotta love the beach!
