I had more work done on my tibetan tattoo today. Steve Black (on Facebook as steve black, his locatin is Somerset) is the artist who has done all my work and with this particular sleeve he is excelling himself. Today he did all the line work of whats remaining, including adding another poppy or two, and the gray shading which will sweep doem from the skull, weaving in and out of the mala beads, poppies and skull. The inside of my elbow did not hurt as much as expected, but lower down was incredibly painful. I'm at the point with this tattoo where it needs the colour to make sense of all the intricate design elements. Im not going to post a new photo now until some more colour is added, which is booked for September 12th.
Steve convinced me not to have the Omh mantra at the bottom of the sleeve as the length is right to be a specific length. I forget what he said it was, but it had something to do with sevenths!
Roll on September the 12th the next two hour session. My initial tattoo, the koi carp on its own, was done on June 19th 2007 and was supposed to cure me of my longstanding desire to get inked. Here I am 14 months later with a left arm down to the elbow and going onto my chest, with the right arm now a full seventh sleeve in progress with the chest piece pending. Whoever told me at the time that being tattoed was addictive, was right.
