Ike is going to be smacking us

We're about 150 miles to the side of Houston so we won't be getting the most of it. They say Galveston is already underwater. Kinda sad. I remember sitting on the seawall when I was a kid. My dad still has a photo. Pray for my husbands friends north of Houston. They told most of the people in high areas of Houston not to evacuate. My husband tried to talk them into coming up to stay with us but they're staying there.
I won't be on for a couple days.
My kids are going to my sisters and hubby (the cop) and I will be working pretty much non-stop all week-end. He's
with the refugees in my daughters high school, and my hospital is on white signal which mean "pack a bag, cause you ain't leaving".

I want a lot of juicy topics to read when I get back.

Hope you are doing okay, we got hit by Ike here in Ohio. We were without power for 6 days. Had some downed trees in our backyard but we survived!

Hi, still here, just been working WAY too much. Since Ike veered off to the east, here in Austin we didn't get any rain. We really needed it too. My husband worked 5 12 hour shifts in a row. We had a lot of evacuees in our hospital, we are full up and working our butts off. I'm a part timer but they're trying real hard to make me full time + extra. I'm getting too old to do this, or I just feel like it after 12 straight of walking.
My husband still hasn't heard from his friend who lives north of Houston. It's likely they're out of power and I'm sure his cell phone is out by now. Hoping to have some contact soon....
