I can't believe my baby boy turned one!

Wow - how time has passed. My son turned one last weekend. Amazing how time flies. I've always heard from other parents that time goes quickly with a baby. I always shrugged and replied, yeah sure.

But now that he's turned one - I can't believe it. Almost makes me want to talk to my wife about having another one! Almost...

So to honor this accomplishment, I think I'll have to go get another tattoo. So to all the parents - do you have any tattoos for you kids? If so, what?

I was thinking about adding his footprints from when he was born. Not sure how that would look. Or get his zodiac symbol - but I'm not much into that. I do know that I want something... just not sure what.

But at least he had fun on his birthday.

Well, I think I'm going in Sunday afternoon to add to "canvas". My wife is getting a 3/4 sleeve - so I figured while I"m there, I might as well get something done as well!

Still not 100% decided on what to get. Leaning towards his baby footprints, since I have all black and gray and it would fit with the tats I have on my lower leg. I got a perfect spot for it also!

But as I searched for "baby footprints tattoos", I noticed that most of them were on mothers. Would it seem odd that it's on the dad?

My wife said it best - he's your baby boy!

So I'll be sure to post some pictures next week - of whatever I end up getting!

Congratulations I have two sons myself 17 and 13. I have there names. As for the time I will agree I sit now as I type this and think that next year my oldest will be in collage and 4 more years and I am home alone!!!!!!!! FAST IS AN UNDER STATEMENT. ENJOY EVERY SEC YOU CAN!!!!!

our little girl just turned 2. i still look at her in amazement and think "i'm her daddy!"
when she was a month old i took her with me to get her name in script and her birthdate around my wrist. nothing unique but it's where i had an open spot.
my wife got a traditional dagger with our three birthstones on the hilt and a banner with her full name & birthdate on her leg.
a portrait, hand or foot prints, his name, birthdate or anything that reminds you of him at this moment in time. i suggest you take him along. although he may be too young to remember it'll always be a cool story to tell him how he was there when you got the tattoo to commemorate him.

Time flies so fast. I never thought mine would be in high school but I'm the mother of a sophomore now (and a 6th grader). A portrait would be great, he'll never be this age again so preserve it while you can. I have cocoons to represent my daughters, one with a monarch just emerging (to represent my then 14 yr old coming into womanhood) and the other totally enclosed (for my then 10 yr old).

Happy birthday, Dad (I always say it to the parents too). I got my children's signatures but they were 13 and 8 by then. I like the idea of foot prints (or hand prints) as if your child actually walked on/pawed you...
